Do I need to use heartgard as well? My dogs have no heart worm so I'm looking for the med that provides the best prevention for everything. One is a lab the other is half lab / mastiff, thank you

You don't need Heartgard if you are using Advocate. If you want a product to cover everything Nexgard Spectra is a new product and pretty much covers ticks, fleas and all types of worms.

Question:

Does advocate protect against sarcoptic mange? The back of the box lists it for Sarcoptes scabiei var. canis and for demodicosis and I have used for 3 treatments with a cleaning program and the dogs still have the mange. Would Revolution work better?

Answer:

Yes Advocate also protects against sarcoptic mange. Depending on the main ingredient, some different ones can work better than others on certain dogs. So yes, it's worth trying since Revolution and Stronghold are very popular. I use Stronghold myself.
